“What does ART mean to you?”
In the summer of 2009 I posed that question to 50 people I knew via email and asked they respond in the next 10 days using just one word on a postcard. The result was receiving more than 135 postcards between June 29th and July 13th. Most came from people I didn’t know - from as far away as Japan. There were more than 100 different answers that helped me to understand art through the perspectives of those I am connected to and influenced by, no matter how far removed.
